Davis, the only person ever charged in connection with Tupac’s murder, was accused of helping plan the shooting that claimed the rapper’s life near the Las Vegas Strip in September 1996.
During closing arguments, prosecutors argued that circumstantial evidence, combined with Davis’ own statements about the incident, linked him to the crime. They described him as a shot caller within the South Side Compton Crips and alleged that he went hunting for Tupac.
The prosecution also urged the court to consider Davis’ memoir, which contains details about the shooting, as an admission of his involvement, despite the book being credited to a co-writer.
However, Davis’ defence team maintained that his account of the shooting was fictional. His lawyers also pointed to missing investigative records and argued that there was no direct evidence linking their client to the killing.
Tupac, widely regarded as one of the most influential rappers of all time, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. He died six days later at the age of 25.
Davis’ conviction marks a major development in a murder case that has captivated fans and investigators around the world for nearly 30 years.
